What is the SCA?

The SCA is a diverse group of folks with a shared interest in the Middle Ages. Members dress in clothing of the Middle Ages and interact within a similar social structure. We hold events featuring activities such as tournaments, arts and science displays, classes, feasts, and dancing. Ruling Nobility hold courts to recognize the accomplishments of their subjects. The world has been divided up into major divisions, called Kingdoms. Each Kingdom is comprised of smaller groups called baronies, shires, cantons, and colleges or marches. Rising Stone is part of the Kingdom of Meridies which has chapters in Tennessee, Georgia, Upper Florida, Alabama, and part of Kentucky.
