Menhir 2010: Lost Horizons: Outliers, Frontiers and Heresies

Schedule and Class Description
UPDATED: Feast Description and
Ingredients List for Lunch
UPDATE: Pickup Heavy Fighting Weather Permitting (and
weather should permit)
Come one, come all, to Rising Stone's annual Menhir collegium, and join
us in studying and celebrating the cultures outside the traditional
realms of the Western European medieval world. This is the place to
learn about history and artistry of the Rus, North Africa, Mongolia,
Greenland, Byzantium, the Near and Far East, India and Vinland, and to
explore the heretical thought of those, like the Cathars, who lived
within the bounds of the West, but departed from its ideals. With
classes from costume and cookery to metalsmithing and history, we
promise one of the most fun and informative events we've ever held.
As is tradition with Menhir, there will be a lunch time feast for
approximately 150—a delicious culinary tour of the lands beyond the West
created by Mistress Una and Baron Hrolf. Weather allowing, some
accidental outdoor fighting may break out in the afternoon, as always
happens in Rising Stone.
More information, class listings and feast menu coming soon at
risingstone.org. (Anyone wishing to teach, please contact Mistress Maudeleyn.)
